Ingredients
- 50 mlTequila
- 25 mlTriple secOrange liqueur. Cointreau is the premium version.
- 25 mlLime juiceSqueeze it fresh. Bottled juice tastes flat. 1 lime gives about 25 ml.
- 1 pinchSalt (optional)
Plus ice.

No bar kit? A jar with a lid works as a shaker, and 1 tablespoon is 15 ml.
How to make a Margarita
- Optional salt rim: rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip it in salt.
- Put the tequila, triple sec and lime juice in a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 12 seconds.
- Strain into the glass. Add fresh ice if you like it on the rocks.
